With over 30 years in education, Kim Tackaberry is passionate about literacy, inclusion, and creating meaningful learning experiences for all students. She currently serves as a Designer of Professional Learning at the Alberta Professional Learning Consortium, where she develops and delivers both in-person and online training to support educators across the province.
Much of Kim’s career was spent at Foothills Academy Society, a school dedicated to students with learning disabilities and/or ADHD. Her commitment to inclusive education led her to earn a Master of Education in Literacy from Queen’s University.
In 2006, Kim founded GLOW (Girls Leading Others Wisely), an 8-week leadership and empowerment program for girls ages 9–14. The GLOW curriculum and facilitator training have been recognized internationally.
Outside the classroom, Kim is a proud hockey and baseball mom to her two sons. She finds balance and inspiration through trail running in the Rocky Mountains.
